Cedarville is a village located in Stephenson County, Illinois, in the United States. It has a population of approximately 741 residents and covers an area of 0.7 square miles. The village is served by the Freeport School District and is home to a public elementary school.
Cedarville was originally called Cedar Point and was settled in the 1840s by families of German and Swiss descent. The village was incorporated in 1867 and named after the cedar trees that grew in the area.
One of the main attractions in Cedarville is the Jane Addams Trail, a 13-mile trail that runs through the village and connects to Freeport and the Wisconsin state line. The trail is popular for hiking, biking, and cross-country skiing.
Cedarville is also home to several parks, including Cedar Park and Lions Park, which offer playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports fields. The village hosts several community events throughout the year, such as the Cedarville Fest in the summer and the Christmas Walk in the winter.
